Installation Methods
Our screens can be mounted in multiple configurations to suit your specific architecture and needs.
The screen cassette is recessed into the ceiling or header for a completely hidden, built-in appearance. Best for new construction or remodels.
The cassette mounts directly to the face of the header, soffit, or wall. The most common and versatile installation method.
Screens mount between existing structural posts or columns. Ideal for covered patios and pergolas.

How wide can a motorized screen be?+
Our screens are available in widths up to 25 feet for a single unit. For wider openings, multiple units can be installed side-by-side with minimal gaps between them.
Can screens withstand wind?+
Our screens are rated for moderate wind conditions. Optional wind sensors automatically retract the screens when wind speeds become unsafe. For windier locations, we offer heavier-duty wind mesh options.
How are the screens powered?+
The Somfy motors run on standard household current (110V). A single low-voltage wire is run to the screen cassette. The screens are operated via wireless remote control, with optional wall switches and smartphone control available.
Can I see through the screen?+
Yes! All of our mesh options maintain outward visibility. The degree of visibility depends on the mesh type chosen. Standard insect mesh offers the highest transparency, while privacy mesh offers reduced visibility from the outside.
How do I maintain my screens?+
Maintenance is minimal. Occasionally brush off debris and rinse the mesh with a garden hose. The tracks can be wiped clean. We recommend retracting screens during severe weather.
